MESSAGE Don’t be scared to use English!
Many students are scared to speak in English classes because their English isn't perfect. Don’t pressure yourself so much! Ideally, you should feel free to experiment with all the English you've learned throughout school and find new ways to express yourself. Your teachers want to help you grow, so don’t be scared of trying to use new words and expressions. The classroom is a safe place to try them out. If you push your English a bit more, you might find that you will learn a lot and enjoy doing it!

- William Todd taught English at the high school level in Rwanda for two and a half years before coming to teach in Japan in 2019. After having completed his Master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), he now teaches English part-time at a variety of schools.
